Romans 16
Overview
16:1 Paul wills the brethren to greet many;
16:17 and advises them to take heed of those which cause dissension and offences;
16:21 and after sundry salutations ends with praise and thanks to God. If they had fixed it during that residence at Corinth, during his journey to Jerusalem, or during his progress through Asia Minor, an equal contradiction would have been incurred because, during all that time, they were either with St. Paul, or abiding at Ephesus. Lastly, had they fixed this epistle to be either contemporary with the first epistle to the Corinthians, or prior to it, a similar contradiction would have ensued, for they were then with St. Paul. As it is, all things are consistent. - See Dr. Paley.PriscillaActs 18:2-17, 18:26; 1 Corinthians 16:19; 2 Timothy 4:19 myRomans 16:9; 1 Corinthians 16:16Reciprocal1 Chronicles 22:17 - all the princes; Acts 15:23 - greeting; Romans 16:2 - for; Philippians 4:21 - Salute Verse 4haveRomans 5:7; John 15:13; Philippians 2:30; 1 John 3:16 laidJoshua 10:24; 2 Samuel 22:41; Micah 2:3 alsoActs 15:41, 16:5; 1 Corinthians 7:17, 16:1; 1 Thessalonians 2:14; Revelation 1:4ReciprocalJudges 9:17 - adventured his life; 11:36 - forasmuch; 12:3 - put; 1 Chronicles 11:19 - that have put their lives; Esther 4:16 - if I perish; Job 16:12 - by my neck; Acts 18:2 - Aquila; Romans 16:2 - for; 16:16 - The; 1 Corinthians 16:19 - Aquila; 2 Corinthians 8:18 - throughout; 11:28 - the care; 2 Timothy 4:19 - Prisca Verse 5the churchMatthew 18:20; 1 Corinthians 16:19; Colossians 4:15; Philemon 1:2 myRomans 16:8, 16:12; 3 John 1:1 whoRomans 11:16; 1 Corinthians 16:15; James 1:18; Revelation 14:4 AchaiaRomans 15:26; Acts 18:12, 18:27; 2 Corinthians 1:1, 9:2ReciprocalDeuteronomy 26:2 - That thou shalt; Jeremiah 2:3 - the firstfruits; 2 Corinthians 11:10 - the regions Verse 6whoRomans 16:12; Matthew 27:55; 1 Timothy 5:10ReciprocalExodus 35:25 - General; 2 Kings 4:13 - thou hast; Proverbs 11:16 - gracious; 31:31 - and let; Romans 16:2 - for; 1 Corinthians 16:16 - laboureth; 1 Thessalonians 1:3 - and labour Verse 7kinsmenRomans 16:11, 16:21, fellow prisoners, 2 Corinthians 11:23; Colossians 4:10; Philemon 1:23; Revelation 1:9 whoGalatians 2:2, 2:6 wereRomans 8:1; Isaiah 45:17, 45:25; John 6:56, 14:20, 15:2; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 5:17, 5:21; Galatians 1:22, 5:6, 6:15; Ephesians 2:10; 1 John 4:13, 5:20ReciprocalActs 21:16 - an old; 2 Corinthians 12:2 - in Christ; Philippians 3:9 - in Verse 8myRomans 16:5; Philippians 4:1; 1 John 3:14ReciprocalRomans 16:22 - salute Verse 9ourRomans 16:2, 16:3, 16:21Reciprocal1 Corinthians 16:16 - helpeth; Philippians 4:3 - help Verse 10approvedRomans 14:18; Deuteronomy 8:2; 1 Corinthians 11:19; 2 Corinthians 2:9, 8:22; Philippians 2:22; 1 Timothy 3:10; 1 Peter 1:7 of2 Timothy 4:19 householdor, friendsReciprocal2 Corinthians 6:4 - in all; 10:18 - approved; 13:7 - approved; 2 Timothy 2:15 - approved; 3 John 1:14 - Our Verse 11ReciprocalRomans 16:7 - kinsmen; 16:21 - my kinsmen; 1 Corinthians 1:30 - in; 2 Corinthians 5:17 - be; 3 John 1:14 - Our Verse 12labourMatthew 9:38; 1 Corinthians 15:10, 15:58, 16:16; Colossians 1:29, 4:12; 1 Thessalonians 1:3, 5:12, 5:13; 1 Timothy 4:10, 5:17, 5:18; Habakkuk 3:1, 3:1ReciprocalExodus 35:25 - General; Proverbs 31:31 - and let; Acts 15:25 - our; Romans 16:5 - my; 16:6 - who; Philippians 4:3 - help; Revelation 2:3 - hast laboured Verse 13RufusMark 15:21 chosenMatthew 20:16; John 15:16; Ephesians 1:4; 2 Thessalonians 2:13; 2 John 1:1 hisMatthew 12:49, 12:50; Mark 3:35; John 19:27; 1 Timothy 5:2ReciprocalJudges 5:7 - a mother Verse 14andRomans 8:29; Colossians 1:2; Habakkuk 3:1; 1 Peter 1:22, 1:23
