Psalm 70
Overview
70:1 David solicits God to the speedy destruction of the wicked, and preservation of the godly.

This Psalm is almost word for word the same as the five
Psa_40:13 of Psalm 40; and it is written as a part of the succeeding Psalm in about 27 manuscripts. Both Psalms evidently appear to have been written by David during the rebellion of Absalom, and probably at the crisis when he heard of the sanguinary counsel which Ahithophel had given respecting him; or, as some suppose, when beyond Jordan. 2Sam. 17:1-21 Verse 1to bringPsalm 38:1 *titleO God40:13-17, 69:18, 71:12, 143:7 to help meHeb. to my helpReciprocal1 Chronicles 16:4 - to record; Psalm 5:11 - But; 38:22 - Make; 69:17 - hear me speedily; 102:2 - in the day Verse 2LetPsalm 6:10, 35:4, 35:26, 71:13, 109:29; Isaiah 41:11 my soulRather,"my life," naphshee; for the word has frequently this meaning.be turned28:13; John 18:6ReciprocalPsalm 25:3 - let; 31:17 - wicked; 40:14 - Let them be ashamed; 63:9 - seek; 71:12 - make; Jeremiah 17:18 - confounded; Lamentations 1:13 - he hath turned; Ezekiel 25:3 - thou saidst Verse 3backPsalm 40:15; Acts 1:18 ahaHeach!
